Maximum airflow is usually a boundary value at very low system resistance. As duct resistance increases, delivered airflow decreases.
Total pressure loss
Duct friction, bends, dampers, filters, silencers and terminal devices create the total pressure requirement.
Read the fan curve
The fan curve shows the pressure a fan can develop at different airflows. The design point should lie in a stable and efficient operating region.
Motor and control margin
Motor power, speed, control method and allowance for possible system changes should be checked at the selected duty point.
